# What is Ares

> Ares is an AI operator that runs marketing and lead follow-up for home-service businesses.

Ares is an AI operator for home-service businesses. It plugs into your CRM and your Meta ad account, then does the work a marketing hire would do: it follows up with every lead within seconds, nurtures them toward a booked estimate, launches and monitors ad campaigns, keeps your pipeline organized, and reports back to you in plain English.

You do not configure Ares with settings screens and automation builders. You talk to it the way you would talk to an employee, and it handles the work. Anything customer-visible or money-related waits in an approval queue for your sign-off first.

## Who Ares is for

Ares is built for trades where the sale happens at an estimate: concrete coatings, hardscaping and pavers, electrical, roofing, fencing, painting, and similar home services. If your business wins jobs by getting in front of a homeowner and quoting the work, Ares fits.

The typical Ares customer runs a crew, answers their own phone, and loses leads not because the work is bad but because nobody followed up while they were on a job site. Ares exists to close that gap.

Every lead gets a response within seconds and a persistent nurture sequence until they book, reply, or opt out. No lead sits overnight.

Ares launches lead-generation campaigns on Facebook and Instagram, monitors spend and cost per lead, and flags what needs your attention.

## How it fits together

1. You connect your CRM and your ad account once, during onboarding. See [Quickstart](/quickstart).
2. Ares monitors leads, conversations, and campaigns around the clock.
3. Routine work runs automatically. Sensitive work waits in [approvals](/using/approvals).
4. You check the [dashboard](/using/dashboard) or ask Ares in [chat](/using/chat) whenever you want the current picture.

## What Ares is not

Setting expectations correctly matters more than a long feature list:

* **Ares is not a chatbot widget.** It is an operator that works your actual CRM and ad account, with real read and write access, governed by approval gates.
* **Ares is not an agency.** There is no account manager, no retainer, and no monthly report deck. There is a dashboard with live numbers and an operator you can question directly.
* **Ares is not autonomous with your money.** Every campaign launch, budget change, and piece of ad creative is previewed and confirmed by you before it goes live. See [Budgets and spend safety](/ads/budgets).

## Next step

Head to the [Quickstart](/quickstart). Setup takes about ten minutes, and the longest step is signing into your own accounts.
